Annafeld - Billings, MT

A hand-drawn map of an urban area with yellow blocks representing buildings and white spaces for streets. Three red circles overlap the map, indicating 3-minute walks, and one black dotted circle with a 5-minute walk label spans the central area. Notes mention the need for a formal green space pocket park in a quadrants area, with a reference to Greg's sketch.

In 2017, I was part of a charrette team that masterplanned Annafeld and set the tone for the architeture of the town center area.  Starting in 2018, I began working with them to develop housing designs and designs for the town Center.

Designing Annafeld has been a breath of fresh air.  Set in the foothills of Montana, in big-sky country, the developers are very keen on housing alternatives and options.  We’ve had the chance to design a wide variety of housing types we call “Missing Middle”, which include Townhomes, four-plexes, six-plexes, tuck-unders, and live-works.  Throughout the neighborhood, they’ve implemented all of these housing types including a few cottage courts.

It’s truly a neighborhood that has something for everyone.
