Columbus, Mississippi

It's been an honor to work with the Columbus Redevelopment Authority to help revitalize a part of the city that had been forgotten and run down.

The team created a series of courtyards, greenways, walkable streets, and cottage clusters that connect through the site to the adjacent parks and recreation areas the city has. Burns Bottom is located in Columbus, MS. Civil engineers at Neel-Schaffer are currently working to implement the development.

All cities have to think about growth, beauty, and infrastructure, but we also need to focus on emphasizing awareness about the existing resources already built into the fabric of the city that can be utilized and revitalized to grow the city in the direction of beauty and a place people will love to be.— Mike Thompson
