Gateway to the Neighborhood
West Jackson St. is a strategic connector between mid-town and parts west of the rail line as well as the two neighborhoods north and south of West Jackson St. The neighborhood on the north side is flourishing, but the neighborhood on the south side is run down and in need of revitalization.
The City hired us to provide infill planning on the north and south side of West Jackson using available existing lots, to increase density on those lots, and to create a park along the rail line. Our approach was to create a series of townhomes, cottages, cottage courts, and single family detached housing. The corner of Clayton Ave. and W. Jackson St. was proposed to be small mixed-use buildings.
